Diablo 2: Resurrected launches on Steam with full Steam Deck support

Diablo 2: Resurrected has finally arrived on Steam – since 2021, the game was available exclusively on Battle.net. The release on Valve's storefront includes Steam Deck verification, confirming full compatibility with the portable console.

However, completely avoiding Battle.net won't be possible. According to system requirements, launching the game requires the Battle.net desktop application and an account with the service. The game also requires a constant internet connection.

The Steam release coincided with the launch of the Reign of the Warlock expansion – the first in the game's 25-year history. The expansion adds a new Warlock class and a revamped inventory management system, which had become noticeably outdated by modern standards.

The game's arrival on Steam is good news for those who dislike juggling multiple launchers. This very inconvenience once prompted major publishers like EA and Ubisoft to practically abandon their own storefronts in favor of Valve's platform. An additional advantage is compatibility not only with Steam Deck, but also with the upcoming Steam Machines.
