Fallout star Aaron Moten has forbidden himself from playing the games
Aaron Moten, who plays Maximus in Prime Video's Fallout series, revealed that he deliberately avoids playing the games despite being familiar with the source material.
"I am a gamer; I really enjoy taking a break from watching TV and movies. It's work for me, and I really have a hard time turning that brain off when becoming a viewer," Moten told Game Informer. "I have not played Fallout, but I have watched Twitch streams, you know, I've watched others play it. But, partly, I forbid myself from playing it at this point. It's our job to bring a sense of humanity to these three characters."
In the series, Maximus serves as a squire in the Knights of San Fernando – a group that considers itself part of the Brotherhood of Steel. Members patrol the wastelands wearing Fallout's iconic power armor. In the games, Maximus only appeared in the mobile title Fallout Shelter as a cameo character following the show's release.
Maximus is one of three main protagonists alongside Lucy MacLean, played by Ella Purnell, and the Ghoul, portrayed by Walton Goggins.
Season 2 of Fallout recently concluded with a controversial twist that appeared to canonize one of the possible endings from Fallout: New Vegas. However, co-showrunner Geneva Robertson-Dworet stated that the series isn't trying to overwrite the games' continuity.
Season 3 of Fallout has been confirmed, though Prime Video hasn't announced a projected release date yet.
