Fallout fans predict grim fate for Thaddeus in season 2
Fallout season 2 is nearing its finale, and until episode 7, everyone assumed Thaddeus was turning into a ghoul. After the latest episode, however, fans have developed a much darker theory about his fate.
WOW! Be careful – spoilers ahead!
Released on January 27, episode 7 explored Steph's backstory in American-occupied Canada before the war and revealed her true identity. Meanwhile, Maximus, Thaddeus, and the Ghoul prepared to rescue Lucy from her manipulative father Hank. As the trio readied for a confrontation with a pack of Deathclaws, Thaddeus's right arm fell off, revealing his gangrenous and necrotic shoulder.
Ghouls in Fallout, as demonstrated by Walton Goggins' fan-favorite character, do lose limbs. However, considering Thaddeus is also growing some kind of bizarre mouth at the base of his neck, fans speculate he's transforming into a centaur.
As one viewer astutely noted, this would be the worst possible fate.
Others agree that poor Thaddeus seems headed for a grim transformation:
— My poor baby about to become one of the ugliest mutants in the wasteland.
— I was scared he would be a super mutant at first, but god this is so much worse and being a centaur looks painful.
— Thaddeus, I will love you no matter what may happen in the future.
In the game series, players encounter both one-headed and two-headed centaurs, with single-headed variants often displaying tooth-like structures across their torsos – something Thaddeus showed earlier. Centaurs were created by The Master as half-living entities, merged from humans, dogs, and other animals after exposure to the Forced Evolutionary Virus (FEV).
Typically found in New California and the Mojave Wasteland, centaurs can spit lethal doses of radiation and tear enemies apart with their three-pronged tongues.
Not everyone believes the theory about Thaddeus becoming a centaur, though.
I'm kinda upset because it just doesn't make sense lorewise unless it has something to do with him interacting with Dogmeat and possibly getting some of her DNA. Centaurs are only really made using multiple creatures so idk how they're gonna make this work.
The Fallout season 2 finale drops next week.
