Roguelike Wireworks challenges players to defend their base using modular boards and wire management
Indie developer JJJ launched a Steam page for Wireworks, a roguelike that puts a technical twist on base defense. The game features automatic combat built around an unusual modular control system that replaces traditional tower placement.
The core mechanic of Wireworks centers on creating defensive systems through a modular board. Players manage wires, configure modules, combine signals, and create synergies to repel enemy waves and defeat bosses. This approach differs from classic tower defense by offering a more technical and flexible defense-building system.
The game features over 140 items and skills for experimenting with builds. Developers prepared three unique zones with different enemy types and bosses, unlockable characters with special abilities and starting kits, plus an escalating difficulty system. An endless mode provides testing grounds for build durability.
Release is scheduled for March 2026.
