Overwatch fans are dressing up their cats as Jetpack Cat and flooding the internet with adorable edits

Perhaps the best thing Overwatch has given to the world in years is a reason for thousands of cat owners to open a photo editor and turn their pets into proper heroes. Fans of Blizzard Entertainment's shooter have flooded the internet with amateur photoshops and real-life cosplays of their cats dressed up as Jetpack Cat.

For those out of the loop, Overwatch is enjoying what might be its biggest resurgence ever, thanks to a massive update introducing five new heroes. Among them is Jetpack Cat – a regular, one-brain-cell ginger cat perched atop a weaponized jetpack. The character instantly won over the community.

Naturally, fans wasted no time turning their own pets into the heroic Jetpack Cat – some through photo editing, others by crafting actual cosplay outfits. The results are incredibly adorable.

Blizzard won't be running out of ideas for Jetpack Cat cosmetics anytime soon. Grey tabbies, British shorthairs, and dozens of fan cats from around the world give the devs plenty of material for skins for years to come. It's already easy to picture real cats showing up at conventions in pilot goggles and little leather jetpack harnesses.
