New fake GTA 6 screenshots show nighttime Vice City
The information drought surrounding Grand Theft Auto 6 continues to spawn new waves of fake content. This time, social media has been flooded with nighttime screenshots from an allegedly leaked build of the game, showcasing Vice City after dark with impressive lighting and detailed environments.
However, upon closer inspection, the images turn out to be yet another product of generative AI models. Despite the quality visuals and atmospheric lighting, these shots make no sense as nighttime footage.
This is far from the first time fake GTA 6 materials have racked up millions of views. In November 2025, the Zap Actu GTA6 account posted a fake video of Lucia walking through a rainy Vice City that accumulated over 8 million views within 24 hours. The creator later admitted the footage was entirely AI-generated, stating he wanted to demonstrate how easy it has become in 2025 to blur the line between reality and AI content.
Just a few days ago, there was news about a few seconds of gameplay with UI elements – though it was exposed by the use of images from official trailers and a spelling error: "poin of interest" instead of "point of interest."
Here are new comparisons between official footage and fakes. If you don't look closely, they appear convincing, but the shots themselves are low resolution and generally make no sense.
Additionally, text on certain elements has changed, clearly giving away the images as fakes. Keep in mind that Rockstar has only released two trailers and a batch of promotional images so far. If you come across any new unofficial footage, the probability of it being fake is extremely high.
GTA 6 is scheduled to release on November 19, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series. PC version is not yet announced but do not expect it until 2027.
