Diablo 4's Lord of Hatred expansion brings Greece-inspired region fans waited decades for

Blizzard revealed a detailed look at the upcoming expansion for Diablo 4 titled Lord of Hatred during the Diablo Spotlight event. Unlike the previous expansion, which unfolded in the entirely new region of Nahantu, Lord of Hatred transports players to a location repeatedly mentioned throughout the series' history but never before featured in-game – Skovos.

The region can be seen in the trailer below at 2:43.

According to Diablo lore, the Skovos Isles are the birthplace of humanity and the homeland of Lilith and Inarius. These lands are rich in history and covered in ruins left behind by the first humans. Even the Horadrim has ties to this place, as the first order left a vault on the region's main island. Currently, this Mediterranean Greek-inspired region is ruled and inhabited by the Askari (also known as Amazons) and the order of Oracles – neither of whom will be particularly thrilled about players' visit and Mephisto's looming invasion.

After decades of teases, players finally got a proper look at the Skovos Isles, comprising four islands – Philios, Skovos, Lycander, and Skartara. While fully exploring the region won't be possible until the expansion's April 28 release, the visual splendor of the new Diablo IV region can already be appreciated.
