Fan-made Oblivion remake on Skyrim engine showcased in new screenshots following release delay
TES Renewal Project – a team of volunteers creating an unofficial fan remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion called Skyblivion – has resurfaced several weeks after announcing a release delay. The developers published new screenshots, and they look impressive.
The Oblivion remake built from scratch on the Skyrim engine has been in development for nearly 14 years. In 2025, it seemed the release was finally approaching, but in December, project lead Rebelzize announced a delay to 2026 due to various "complications." Since then, the team had remained silent – until recently.
The published images showcase the ruins of Wendelbek – a massive Ayleid dungeon with atmospheric dim lighting.
We haven't been very talkative since the last update, but that doesn't mean we've stopped working. More and more elements are reaching their final stage, including Wendelbek – enormous Ayleid ruins to explore.
A specific release date for Skyblivion has still not been announced.
