The Vow: Vampire's Curse – tactical roguelike about vampires with striking hand-drawn art
MimyrGames is developing The Vow: Vampire's Curse – a tactical turn-based game with roguelike and deckbuilding elements that looks visually more impressive than many big-budget projects. Despite limited recognition, the developer's recent posts caught attention on social media.
The game tells the story of a hero bound by a vow to save his bride from a vampire curse. Each night the player rises to fight the darkness, where survival depends entirely on strategic thinking. Battles unfold on a grid where every move can prove fatal – the developer shared footage showing how their own past decisions led to an inescapable dead end.
The mechanics revolve around a day-night cycle. During the day the player strengthens defenses and adapts strategy by selecting cards for their deck – which defines the entire run and serves simultaneously as strategy, lifeline, and curse. At night vampire attacks begin with tactical grid-based combat. The developer describes the gameplay with the phrase "the curse never ends" – players must retry, discover new elements, and dive deeper into the vampiric abyss.
MimyrGames positions the game for fans of Into the Breach, Slay the Spire, Fights in Tight Spaces, and Alina of the Arena. Recent posts showcased the fourth level, new visual effects for enemy spawning and disappearing, and a "You shall not pass" moment adapted for turn-based gameplay.
The title can be added to a Steam wishlist, but no release date has been announced.
